Depression & Exercise

Have you ever heard the expression “runner’s high“? I confess that although I have done many different types of runs, from 5Ks to a marathon and everything in between, I have never been able to attain that feeling of euphoria that some runners experience. While a “high” may seem like the ultimate reward for exercising, it doesn’t have to be the only goal. What I have personally experienced, and what research seems to back up, is that regular exercise can do something much more impressive for you than just make you feel good temporarily.
